Bio
Spirit Fingers Trio is piano, bass and drums, led by Greg Spero with Mike Mitchell on drums and a rotating cast of players. The music moves between deep pocket, odd-meter drive and open improvisation.
Greg Spero is a Los Angeles pianist, composer and producer, and the founder of Spirit Fingers. The band released its self-titled debut on Shanachie in 2018 and Peace on Ropeadope in 2020. Mike Mitchell, known as Blaque Dynamite, plays on the debut and on every release from the JammJam.
On October 23, 2025, the trio played the JammJam in the round at The Recording Club in Santa Monica. Five songs from that night are out on Tiny Records, and the release party is November 17, 2026.
